Tell me about your Homecoming weekend! If you didn't participate in the Homecoming festivities, what did you do? Share pics!

I did not go to homecoming but I went shopping with my friends instead. We went to towncenter and I bought a ton of new clothes. We had dinner at panera and got starbucks early that day. After towncenter we just hungout outside and walked around until late that night, it was much more fun than homecoming.

Imagine Mr. Bacon has asked you to suggest one way of improving Blue Valley High School to make it a better place for students. Think about the changes that are needed at your school. Pick one change you feel would really make a difference and explain what it is and why you'd make the change.

If everyone had a study hall I think it would make school and life a whole lot easier. I have never had a study hall until this year and I have found it so helpful. I took it because I started working this year and wouldn't be home as much to do homework or projects. My grades have even improved and I can get help on whatever I need help with, giving me a better understanding on what we are learning. I have also felt less stressed out about homework because it literally used to take me three hours and after being at school for seven hours the last thing I want to do when I get home is do three hours worth of homework.

What are your favorite apps on your phone or tablet? Why?

My favorite apps are Spotify because I love music, Twitter because it updates me on things that is going on, Vine because it's funny and makes me laugh, and Tumblr because everything is so funny on there and I just sit laugh about stuff I see on it.

What is email? When do you use email in your own personal life? List reasons and ways that people use email. What do you know about "email etiquette"?

Email is something you use rather than actual mail because it is way faster. I use email in my personal life when I make social media accounts or when I am at a store and they ask for my email and then they send me coupons. Email etiquette is using proper grammar and not text talk.

Now that you've been in Emerging Technology for several weeks... what do you think? Do you think the web tools (Drive, Evernote, Bubbl, etc.) are helpful to you? Do you think they will be helpful throughout high school or even college? Explain.

I really like this class, I have learned a lot of useful websites I can use out of this class like evernote. I think those tools are very helpful. They will be very helpful throughout high school and college because they will keep me organized.

Do you enjoy writing? When do you enjoy it? What kind of writing do you enjoy? Why do you think the ability to write is so important no matter what kind of writing it is? Give an example that you enjoyed writing or hated writing. Why?

No, I do not enjoy writing. It is mostly because when I am writing it is because it is for a grade and it makes me nervous. The ability to write is important is because that is how people communicate whether it is in letters or emails especially when you get a job. I hated writing for my summer assignment because when I am out of school I have no motivation to do school work but I had to anyway I did not try hard on it but I still managed to get an A just like everyone else who did it because we ended up getting graded on completion.

Reflect on this quote. Give an example of a time in your life that this might have been the case.

Me every time I take a math test. I don't really know how to study for them after doing my review guide a couple of days before the test. So by the time test day comes I forget almost everything and end up having to retake a section or two on the test.

What is the importance of research? Why do you need to know how to research? What have you learned in high school about researching topics and finding quality resources? Have you had a helpful teacher that has taught you to research? Explain.

The importance of research is to learn new things about something you didn't know before. You need to know how to research because it is a basic thing about school, in every class you take in your entire school career you will need to know how to research. In high school I have learned lots of things about research for example a good quality website will end in .edu. A teacher that has really helped me with research and telling me tips on it is either Mr. Mowery or Mr. Peres and I am pretty sure that is because they are social studies teachers and research is a lot of what we do in history classes. They taught me where and how I could find reliable sources and that has helped me out in other classes a lot.

All kids these days do is sit on your laptops, phones, and any other form of technology. Instead of going to work they are sitting at home on their computers. Instead of paying attention in class they are on their phones. Technology is taking over and rotting the minds of all of the young people.

Tell me about the global issue you selected. What do you already know about the issue? What are you looking forward to learning about it? Explain.

  My global issue it Leukemia Acute Myeloid AML. All I really know about this is that it is a bone marrow cancer. I would like to learn how someone gets it, the genetics behind it, and more about it in general.

What did you do this weekend? Share pictures if you have them!

This weekend I went to Buzz Beach Ball where I saw the 1975, the Arctic Monkeys, and Weezer. It started at 4 but we got there at 9:45 in the morning so we could get good spots. We waited a long time but me and my friends made new friends and hangout. After a while we found out that Adam and Ross from The 1975 were at Panera so we ran a like a mile to get there and we ran through medians in the middle of the road because the cross walk was taking forever so I have a bunch of scratches on my legs from thrones. We caught them just as they were finishing got a picture and went back to the venue. When they let us in our spots were in the very front so we were really close to the stage, there was a lot of pushing and a lot of crowd surfers fell on me and I couldn't do anything because my hands were stuck. It was really fun but also really annoying, I'm just happy I got to meet half of the 1975 and finally get to see them live.

Yesterday I asked your to "think differently" and push yourself to be uncommon with your PSA project using Google Slides. Why do you think I asked you to do that? What is the point? Why not just use bullets and headers? Explain.

You asked us to do this because it will keep an audience's attention for the entire PSA. The point is to get the PSA across to the audience and tell them about the problem in a fun and creative way. Bullets and headers is boring and will make the views not pay attention.

Tell me all about your Labor Day weekend. What did you do? Include photos!

Starting with Friday I went to work. I usually don't work on Fridays but since I didn't go on Thursday because of the One Direction concert in St. Louis my boys had me go in then. I worked from 3:30-9:00 at Taco Bell. It's actually not that bad because I work with one of my close friends. On Saturday I just kind of hung out at my house until 2:00 and went to work until 6:30. After work I went to go get ice cream at this candy store with one of my friends because we haven't seen each other in forever, we walked since the weather was nice and we didn't go home until 1 am so we basically just walked around outside and talked for like 6 hours. On Sunday I did homework because I didn't want to deal with it on Monday. I also had dinner at my grandma's house like we do every Sunday. On Monday my whole family went to my aunt and uncle's house. To swim and we also made pizzas on the grill outside so that was pretty fun to make.
